My favourite character is Sherlock Holmes from the stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I like him because he shows how powerful observation and logic can be in everyday life. While other people miss small details, Holmes sees clues in a muddy footprint, a burned match, or the way someone speaks. It teaches me to look closer and think before I judge.

Another reason I admire Holmes is his calm attitude. When a case looks impossible, he does not panic. He lights his pipe, sits in his chair, and starts to ask simple questions. Step by step, the chaos becomes clear. I try to use the same method when I study: break a big problem into small parts and solve them one by one.

Holmes is also loyal to his friends, especially Dr. Watson. Sometimes he seems cold, but when Watson is in danger, Holmes acts immediately. This balance between a “thinking machine” and a caring friend makes him human and interesting. He is not perfect—he can be arrogant and impatient—but his flaws make him more realistic.

My favourite moment is in “The Adventure of the Speckled Band,” when Holmes notices tiny marks on a bell rope and a strange ventilator between rooms. Everyone else ignores these details, but Holmes connects them and saves a life. It’s a perfect example of his method: observe, hypothesize, test, and conclude.

Because of Sherlock Holmes, I believe that curiosity is a superpower. If we pay attention, ask good questions, and keep an open mind, we can solve problems that first seem unsolvable. That is why he is my favourite character.
