  • Plans / intentions: I’m going to start a new course next week.

  • Evidence we can see now: Look at those clouds — it’s going to rain.

  1. We use will to talk about on-the-spot decisions or predictions based on what we think or believe.

  • On-the-spot decision: I’m tired. I will go to bed now.

  • Opinion / belief prediction (no visible evidence): I think you will like this movie.

  1. We use the present continuous (am/is/are + V-ing) to talk about fixed arrangements (especially with time/place in the near future).

  • We’re meeting the teacher at 5 p.m.

  • She’s flying to London on Friday.
