Thanks for your letter. It was great to hear from you again! I’m glad your cat is still active and funny. He sounds really lovely, especially because he is big, white and furry. I can understand why you like him so much.

You ask why some people don’t want to have pets. I think there are different reasons. Some people are too busy and don’t have enough time to feed an animal, clean after it or take it to the vet. Others may live in small flats where keeping a pet is not very comfortable. Also, some people are allergic to cats or dogs, while others simply don’t like noise, fur or extra responsibility.

As for exotic pets, I don’t really approve of keeping spiders, snakes or other unusual animals at home. In my opinion, many exotic animals should live in their natural environment. Besides, they can be dangerous or difficult to look after properly. Of course, if a person knows a lot about such animals and can create good conditions for them, it may be acceptable, but I still prefer ordinary pets.

In my country, the most popular pets are cats and dogs. Many people also keep parrots, hamsters, guinea pigs, fish or turtles. Cats are especially popular because they are independent and don’t need to be walked every day. Dogs are loved too because they are loyal, friendly and can become real members of the family.

Personally, I think life with pets is much warmer and happier. They make us kinder and help us feel less lonely.
