English is constantly changing because people who use it are constantly changing their lives. New inventions, jobs, technologies and social habits need new words. For example, words connected with computers and the Internet became common only recently.

The language has always changed because English has had contact with other languages. It took many words from Latin, French, Scandinavian languages and many others. Pronunciation, grammar and spelling also changed over time.

So English is not a fixed system. It is a living language: while people speak it, write it and use it in new situations, it naturally changes.
