The teacher says, "We shall write a test next week." 10. The woman says, "Did you go to the concert yesterday, Mrs. Brown?"

1. The policeman tells the children not to cross the road there.

2. The boy asks his mother when they will have tea.

3. Mother tells Nick to stop teasing his sister.

4. The coach asks the boys if they have ever played basketball.

5. The old woman asks the man if he will help her to carry the bag.

6. The little girl says that she likes ice cream more than anything else in the world.

7. My friend asks me who told me such nonsense.

8. Granny asks whether it was Monday the day before.

9. The teacher says that they will write a test the following week.

10. The woman asks Mrs. Brown whether she went to the concert the day before.

Здесь глаголы says / asks / tells стоят в настоящем времени, поэтому грамматическое время в придаточных предложениях обычно не сдвигается назад. При этом меняются местоимения, порядок слов в вопросах и слова времени или места: here → there, yesterday → the day before, next week → the following week.
