Ginny Weasley is eventually taken into the Chamber after being influenced by Tom Riddle’s diary, which is revealed to be a young version of Lord Voldemort. Harry and Ron enter the Chamber to rescue her, where Harry fights and kills a Basilisk with the Sword of Gryffindor. He also destroys Riddle’s diary, which defeats Tom Riddle’s memory and saves Ginny. The school is saved, the attacks stop, and Harry, Ron, and Hermione return to normal life after the Chamber is closed again.
