Правильные формы глаголов здесь определяются не Passive Voice, а употреблением Past Simple, Past Perfect и Past Perfect Continuous.

I woke up and looked out of the window. Everything was white. It had been snowing all night.
Not until I looked at my watch did I realize how much time had passed.
Karen admitted that she had made a mistake and apologized.
Isabel sent a postcard to the girl she had made friends with while she was attending a language course.

Past Simple обозначает основные последовательные события в прошлом: woke, looked, admitted, apologized, sent, got, heard.

Past Perfect обозначает действие, которое завершилось раньше другого действия в прошлом: had passed, had made, had used, had cancelled, had taken.

Past Perfect Continuous подчёркивает продолжительность действия до определённого момента в прошлом: had been snowing, had been smoking.
