Red List animal: Shark

Some sharks are on the Red List because their number is becoming smaller. People catch sharks for meat, fins and sport. Sharks also die in fishing nets by accident.

Sharks are important for the ocean. They help keep the balance in nature because they eat weak and sick animals.

How to protect sharks:

• Stop illegal shark fishing.
• Do not buy shark fins.
• Protect seas and oceans from pollution.
• Create safe ocean areas where sharks can live.
