Cars in the City: For and Against

Cars in the city have both advantages and disadvantages. On the one hand, they make life easier. People can get to work, school or hospital quickly, especially when public transport is crowded or late. Cars are also useful for families with children and for carrying heavy bags. On the other hand, too many cars create serious problems. They cause traffic jams, noise and air pollution. Streets become less safe for pedestrians and cyclists. Parking also takes a lot of space that could be used for parks or playgrounds. In my opinion, cars are necessary, but cities should not depend on them too much. Better buses, trams and bike lanes can make city life cleaner and more comfortable.
