Topic 2. Poverty is considered to be one of the most serious social problems. Do you agree or disagree?

Pollution is one of the biggest threats to our environment because it affects the air, water, soil and all living things. I strongly agree that it is among the most dangerous global problems, although it is not the only one.

First of all, polluted air harms human health. Exhaust fumes from cars and smoke from factories can cause breathing problems. Air pollution also contributes to climate change. If governments introduced stricter rules for factories and transport, cities would become cleaner and safer.

Water pollution is equally serious. Plastic, oil and chemical waste often enter rivers, lakes and oceans. Animals may mistake plastic for food and die. Polluted water can also become dangerous for people, especially in areas where clean drinking water is limited.

In my opinion, every person can help reduce pollution. We should sort waste, use reusable bags and bottles, save electricity and avoid leaving rubbish outdoors. However, individual actions are not enough without support from businesses and governments. Companies should use cleaner technologies and reduce unnecessary packaging.

To conclude, pollution is a major environmental threat because its effects are widespread and long-lasting. If people acted responsibly today, future generations would have a healthier planet.
