An Unusual Island

There is an unusual island in the Pacific Ocean called Socotra. It belongs to Yemen. The island is famous for its strange plants and animals.

The most unusual tree on Socotra is the dragon blood tree. Its branches look like a big green umbrella. When people cut its bark, red juice comes out. That is why the tree has such a name.

Socotra is also home to many rare birds, reptiles and insects. Some of them cannot be found anywhere else in the world. I would like to visit this island because it looks like a place from another planet.
