Governments should spend some money on anti-aging research, but it should not become their main priority. This research can help scientists understand diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, cancer and heart problems. If people stayed healthy for longer, they could work, study and enjoy life more actively.

However, anti-aging research is expensive. Governments also need to fund schools, hospitals, environmental protection and support for poor families. If all public money had been spent on living longer, many important social problems would have remained unsolved.

I wish scientists could find ways to prevent age-related illnesses without making treatment available only to rich people. In my opinion, governments should support this research carefully and fairly. The goal should be not simply a longer life, but a healthier and better life for everyone.
