Card 5 1. Why is it important to take care of the environment? 2. Do you enjoy going to the zoo? Some people consider zoos to be cruel environments for animals. What do you think? 3. Why do you think we should protect endangered species like golden eagles around the world? How could you help? 4. What are three things about bats that impressed you the most? Why are these mammals so important? 5. What new things did you learn about dolphins?

1. It is important to take care of the environment because people, animals and plants need clean air, water and land to live. Pollution and waste can harm all living things.

2. I enjoy going to a good zoo because I can learn about animals. However, zoos should give animals enough space, proper food, care and conditions close to their natural habitat. Otherwise, keeping animals there can be cruel.

3. We should protect endangered species because every species is part of nature and helps keep ecosystems balanced. I can help by not littering, saving resources, learning about wildlife and supporting nature-protection projects.

4. I am impressed that bats can fly, use echolocation to find their way in the dark, and eat huge numbers of insects. They are important because they control insect populations and some species pollinate plants.

5. I learned that dolphins are intelligent mammals, not fish. They breathe air, feed their babies with milk, communicate with sounds and often live in groups.
