  1. Where did you spend your early years?
I spent my early years travelling from place to place. We didn’t stay in one town for long because my family moved a lot, so my childhood was mostly on the road.

  2. How big is your family?
My family is quite big. There are several of us, and we all live close together and depend on each other, especially because our way of life is very different from people who live in one house in one place.

  3. Did you have many friends in your boyhood?
No, not really. Because we moved so often, it was hard to make close friends. I might talk to boys in a new place, but soon we would leave again, so most friendships didn’t last long.

  4. What is your house like?
My house is a gipsy caravan. It’s small, and everything inside has to fit in a limited space. We keep it as tidy as we can, but it’s still very simple compared to a normal house.

  5. What is your father like?
My father is strong and hardworking. He can be kind and caring, but he is also strict and serious. He doesn’t talk too much about his worries, so sometimes he seems closed and heavy-hearted.

  6. Where does your father work?
My father works wherever he can find work when we stop somewhere. He takes different jobs depending on the place, because he can’t have one permanent job if we keep travelling.

  7. It is not comfortable to live in a gipsy caravan, is it?
No, it isn’t very comfortable. There isn’t much space, and in bad weather it can be cold, wet, or difficult. But for us it’s normal, and we are used to it because it’s part of our life.

  8. Why is your father so gloomy and serious sometimes?
He becomes gloomy and serious because life is not easy for us. He worries about money, about finding work, and about our future. He also feels the pressure of being responsible for the whole family, so sometimes those worries make him quiet and sad.
