10. Noughts (O) and Crosses (X) Rules: Work with your classmate. One person draws noughts (O). The other person draws crosses (X). Pick a square and complete the sentence in the square with your own ideas. If your sentence is correct, you can put a nought/cross in the square. The first person to make a line is the winner.
Word bank: far too much, only a little, not much, not enough, not many, lots of, a lot of, far too many, only a few.

This is a speaking game like tic-tac-toe.

Choose a square, make a correct sentence with the phrase in it, and then put your O or X there.

  • far too much — There is far too much sugar in this tea.
  • only a little — I have only a little money.
  • not much — There is not much milk left.
  • not enough — We do not have enough time.
  • not many — There are not many students in the classroom.
  • lots of — I have lots of books.
  • a lot of — She drinks a lot of water.
  • far too many — There are far too many cars on the road.
  • only a few — Only a few people came to the party.
