How I Prepare for the New Year

New Year is one of my favourite holidays. I usually start preparing for it a few days before the celebration. My family and I clean our flat, decorate the rooms and put up a Christmas tree.

I like decorating the tree with colourful balls, lights and small toys. Sometimes I make paper snowflakes and hang them on the windows. I also help my parents cook special dishes for the holiday table.

Before New Year’s Eve, I prepare small presents for my family and friends. In the evening we gather together, watch films, listen to music and wait for midnight. I like this holiday because it gives people joy, hope and a warm family atmosphere.
