Many charitable organizations face a painful problem: the number of people who need help is larger than the money available. As a result, some families may wait for food, medicine, housing, or support after a disaster. Small charities can also spend too much time applying for grants and proving that they use donations honestly.

One solution is to make fundraising more regular. Businesses can donate a fixed small percentage of their profits, while individuals can set up monthly contributions instead of giving only during emergencies. Governments can support reliable charities with tax benefits and clear public grants. Charities should publish simple reports showing where every major donation goes; this increases trust and encourages more people to help. They can also cooperate, sharing warehouses, volunteers, and information so that aid is not duplicated. At school, even a collection of books or warm clothes teaches students that small, organized actions can improve somebody’s life.
