Hachiko was an Akita dog who lived in Tokyo, Japan in the 1920s. His owner was a professor named Eizaburo Ueno. In the afternoon, Hachiko would go back to the station to patiently wait for the (1) to return on the train. Hachiko was always so excited to see his (2) again after their long day apart! This happy routine continued for over a year. Then one day, the professor had a stroke while teaching and sadly died at work. He never returned home on the train. Hachiko did not know what happened, so he went to the station that (3) afternoon as usual to wait for the professor. Hachiko kept returning to Shibuya station (4) every afternoon for the next nine years, still hoping to see his beloved owner again. Hachiko's loyal spirit touched the hearts of many people. A statue was built at the train (5) station to honor his unwavering devotion. Hachiko's incredible story remains one of the most famous examples of the strong bonds between a (6) dog and a human.
